Messi is one of the best players in the world and there is no doubt that he will play in the upcoming Fifa World Cup 2022. He is in the form of his life and works his magic in front of the defenders. And the good thing is that DI Maria and Aguero will be part of the squad as well, so Argentina will have a great chance of winning the World Cup.
Will messi win the 2022 WORLD CUP with ARGENTINA After the recent Copa Success?
Only time will say that. The World Cup is much tougher than the Copa America and besides that there will be teams who might be stronger than Argentina. So it is very illogical to predict that Argentina will win the World Cup in 2022 after winning Copa America in 2021. We all know that Chile were Copa America champions in 2016 but failed to qualify for 2018 World Cup. Looking at the present scenario of South American World cup qualifiers it is highly unlikely that Argentina will repeat the same, which can surely be a boost for millions of Argentina Supporters like me. As I have already said the predictions as asked here in this questions are almost impossible to make but I can certainly say that Argentina will certainly be among the favourites to lift the trophy in Qatar in just sixteen months time! They will be even stronger than the 2014 Argentine side and will surely be a nightmare for a lot of teams. Now I will say in brief why I think so and I will highlight some points which I think Argentina must do to be a formidable side in Qatar.
First of all this Argentina team is not an one man army any more. Lionel Scaloni has done a fantastic job by inducing new talents in the team since September 2018 and giving them a lot of game time. As a result of which Rodrigo De Paul , Lautaro Martinez, Leandro Paredes and some other players have learnt to step up when they are needed. Besides young guns experienced players like Messi and Di Maria are also there and are still performing at their best. Introduction of Christian Romero and Emi Martinez in June this year has proved to be a blessing for this team. The defense of this team is rock solid. Even Nicolas Otamendi has improved drastically since his move to Benfica. Most of the players of the current team are playing for Argentina since September 2018 and as a result they have developed as a proper unit. Leo Messi is really happy with this team and he is really optimistic about their future performances. The players know the weight of Argentina shirt and they are trying their best to make the country proud. Argentina have found the right man in Lionel Scaloni to manage this highly talented team. Obviously he is not the best tactician football ever had or so but he knows how to win matches. He has really helped the team to develop a great chemistry. Argentina’s defense has drastically improved under him. It is stronger than ever. Although he has been criticised for playing ultra defensive football but he did this because he did not want to bottle. Argentina needed a trophy badly. Having won the Copa this year I am sure they will be confident enough in Qatar and will play great football which will we pleasing to watch!!
Now there are some things which I think Argentina must do to be world leaders in football again. They must prepare a strong reserve bench for 2022 World Cup. We have seen how Roberto Mancini has developed Italy. The strength of Italian reserve bench is enormous. They can even win big matches. Argentina must do the same. Marcos Senesi must be called up and given some first team experience from September 2021. He has been an excellent defender last season. If he gets some match time for his country I think his combination with Romero will be something to watch out for in November 2022. Besides that some other young guns like Lisandro Martinez and Angel Correa must be given more time on the field to install confidence in them. Scaloni should look for a local young talent or two who can be a surprise package during the World Cup.
Personally I have high hopes from this Argentine side. I wish Argentina end their World Cup trophy drought at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on 18th December 2022.
