
Who is the club’s head coach?
Jim Curtin has served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Union since November 7th, 2014. Early in his soccer career, he played for the Villanova Wildcats between 1997 and 2000, winning team MVP three times. This was followed by a professional career with the Chicago Fire and Chivas USA. Curtin joined the Union staff at the academy ranks in June of 2010. He was promoted to the position of assistant coach on November 29th, 2012.

Philadelphia finished the 2019 MLS as a three seed in the Eastern Conference with 55 points and a record of 16 wins, 11 losses and seven draws. In the first round of the MLS playoffs, Philadelphia beat the sixth seed New York Red Bulls by a score of 4-3 in overtime. Marco Fabian scored in the 105th minute to clinch the victory. However, the season ended in the second round with a 2-0 loss to the second seed, Atlanta United.
